The Joseon Tongsinsa History Museum, which looks back on the achievements of Joseon Tongsinsa, which has been in charge of cultural exchange between Korea and Japan since the 17th century, opened on April 21, 2011 on the site of Jaseongdae Park.

The word communication of telecommunication companies did not mean what they are using now, but meant that they communicate with each other through faith. The telecommunications company that left for Japan from Joseon is called the Chosun Telecommunications Company in Japan, and the telecommunications company’s visit was conducted 12 times from 1607 to 1811.

The news agency was an official diplomatic mission that maintained a peaceful relationship between the two citizens based on the ideology of friendship between Korea and Japan, and was also a cultural facility group for the spread and exchange of advanced culture.

The exhibition hall on the first floor of the Chosun Telecom History Museum, which was built with two stories above the ground, is equipped with facilities such as an information counter, 3D video promotion, a sofa for relaxation, and a permanent exhibition room.

The newly established Japanese residence called Choryang Waegwan in 1678 (the area of Yongdusan Park, where the current Busan Tower is located), was in charge of diplomatic, trade, and economic exchanges between the two countries until it was closed by the Meiji Restoration regime in 1872. Silver bars introduced from Japan at that time, paper from Japan’s Mino region, Japanese-style fans, and glass landscapes are displayed.

On the second floor, there is Yeonggadae, where a group of Joseon news agencies departing from Hanyang (Seoul) arrived in Busan and held a ritual to pray for the damage before leaving for Japan, and the route until arriving in Edo (Tokyo) Japan is introduced in detail. In addition, models and costumes of ships boarded by Joseon Tongsinsa are displayed.

When you leave the second floor of the history hall, you will find a small yard where you can take pictures as if you are a party of Joseon Tongsinsa and a restored Yeonggadae where you held a ritual for Haesin.

In the new century, a new direction is also required for Korea-Japan relations and cultural exchanges. In particular, with the co-hosting of the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup soccer tournament, the need for various exchanges and events for good friendship and harmony between Korea and Japan is increasing. Now, through the telecommunications company festival, private exchanges and cultural exchanges between Korea and Japan are required to promote mutual understanding, peace, and harmony.
