Of the 60,000 dolmens identified in the world, about 25,000 are in Korea, and Korea is the world’s leading dolmen site.

Among them, three dolmen sites in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, Gochang-gun, Jeolla-do, and Hwasun-gun were registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2000.
