Sok Siwonhan Daegutang (Haeundae Dalmaji Hill)

As Busan is a port city, seafood such as sashimi and seafood stew are delicious, and in Haeundae, which is known as Busan’s representative seaside resort, there are several restaurants specializing in Daegu Tang, a fish called cod.

The restaurant we’re going to introduce today, Daegu Tang, is located on the left side of Haeundae, on Dalmaji Hill overlooking the beautiful beaches of Haeundae, a short walk from Haeewoljeong towards Songjeong Beach.

There is a long yellow signboard on the side of the road with the name Sok Siwonhan Daegu Tang, and you can see several uncles managing the parking lot of the restaurant. The first floor of the building where the uncle is standing is used as a parking lot, and the second floor is a restaurant.

It is said that this restaurant started making Daegu Tang at a stall opposite the Haeundae Mipo tourist cruise ship, moved to a shop next to a Korean condominium, and moved again to its current location. It is a restaurant that has been making only Daegu Tang for many years, and even now, there are still regular customers and it is always crowded with people who come to taste Daegu Tang.

The refreshing Sok Siwonhan Daegu Tang on Dalmaji Hill in Haeundae is characterized by a light broth that does not contain red pepper, and you can taste chewy Daegu Tang when you eat it with thick white flesh of cod, radish, green onion, etc. in a broth seasoned with soy sauce made by yourself. It is also interesting that there are different Daegu Tang for men and Daegu Tang for women.
