Gungnamji (Buyeo Seodong Park)

hello. Gungnamji, located about 1km south of downtown Buyeo, is Jeong Won, a pond built in the Baekje era during the reign of King Mu, the 30th king of Baekje. To the west of Gungnamji is the Buyeo Gunsu-ri Tempel site, which was discovered for the first time as a Buddhist temple in Baekje by Japanese scholar Mosake Ishida in 1935. And to the east is the ruins of Hwajisan Mountain in Buyeo, the palace site of Baekje’s Sabi.

In Gungnamji, where the love story of Princess Seonhwa, the third daughter of King Mu of Baekje and King Jinpyeong of Silla, is told, beautiful lotus flowers bloom from July to August and the ‘Buyeo Seodongyeon Festival’ is held every July.
