Tourists from Japan, Taiwan, and Macau enter the country without visas, extending it to October

The visa-free entry system, which was temporarily implemented in August for Japan, Taiwan, and Macau, will be extended until October 31.

As a result of the implementation of the visa-free system, which was introduced on the 4th of this month in the wake of the "Seoul Festa 2022" event, the average number of foreign tourists visiting Korea from August 1 to 21 in Japan increased by about 97% from July.

As various large-scale international events are scheduled in September and October, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Busan City, and tourism industries have proposed extending visa-free applications for Japan, Taiwan, and Macau.

On October 15, a BTS concert to pray for the hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo will be held at Busan Asiad Stadium, and Busan International Film Festival, Busan One Asia Festival, and Seoul International Travel Mart will also be held.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to actively promote various tourism promotion marketing to increase demand for foreigners visiting Korea in the wake of the extension of visa-free implementation in Japan, Taiwan, and Macau.
