This is a museum specializing in ancient printing built on the site of Heungdeoksa Temple Site during the Goryeo Dynasty, where “Baegun Hwasang Chorokbuljo Jikjisimcheyojeol(白雲和尙抄錄佛祖直指心體要節)’, which was registered as a UNESCO World Record as the world’s oldest metal movable type, was printed.

This typewriter, called Jikji Simgyeong or Jikji, was printed in 1377 at the end of the Goryeo Dynasty by collecting and printing the contents of the Zen, which is said to be the best Buddhist virtue, and is known for its printing technique 70 years ahead of the Gutenberg Bible in Germany, which is known as the world’s first metal type. The Original Jikji Simgyeong is currently stored in the National Museum of France.

The Go Printing Museum, which has one basement floor and three floors above the ground, preserves and displays 650 ancient books, including woodblock prints, metal typewriters, and woodblock prints from Silla and Goryeo, as well as relics excavated from Heungdeoksa Temple Site.
