Andong-si, the hometown of Korean mental culture.

Andong city, located in the Middle East of Korea and the northern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do, is well known worldwide as the hometown of Korean Confucianism, and traditional Korean houses called “Korea in Korea” exist, and Korea’s unique traditional culture lives and breathes.

Buddhism and Confucian cultures such as Hahoe Folk Village, Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy, Bongjeongsa Confucian Academy, and Dosanseowon Confucian Academy, which were registered as world heritage sites by UNESCO in 2010, about 20km west of Andong Bus Terminal, are still handed down.

Andong’s specialties include Andong Jjimdak, Seasoned Mackerel Set Menu, and Andong Soju.
