The Gijang Gaet Village Festival will be held at Ilgwang Beach in Busan from the 6th to the 7th.

Gijang-gun, Busan, announced on the 1st that it will hold the 24th Gijang Gaet Village Festival at Ilgwang Beach for two days from the 6th.

The Gijang Gaet Village Festival is a sea culture festival held at Ilgwang Beach, the background of Oh Young-soo's short novel Gaet Village and the filming location of director Kim Soo-yong's film Gaet Village, which made the novel of the same name in 1965.

On the 6th, the first day of the festival, the Seonghwang Festival will be held to pray for the success of the festival.

A road play parade will be held from Seonghwangdang to the main stage, and Nongak band and Gijang Haenyeo will participate. There will also be sea parades such as jet skis and boats.

On the 7th, the Gaet Village Fishing Village Singing Contest, Gaet Village Theater, and Gaet Village DJ Club will be held.

Fireworks will also be held to embroider the night sea of Ilgwang Beach.

Additional events include fishing village culture experiences such as bare-handed fishing and fishing net pulling every day from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. during the festival.

Kim Boo-jin, chairman of the Gijang Gaet Village Festival Promotion Committee, said, "We have prepared various cultural and artistic performances and experience events using local contents of Gaet Village," adding, "We will do our best to provide fun and joy to tourists visiting Ilgwang Beach during the summer season."
