Busan to Ulsan Metropolitan Subway, extended to BukUlsan Station in 2025

The wide-area subway line between Busan Bujeon Station and Ulsan Taehwagang Station on the Donghae Nambu Line will be extended to Bukulsan Station in 2025.

The 9.7km section between Taehwagang Station and BukUlsan Station, where only Mugunghwa Lake operates, will be operated by metropolitan trains.

Currently, the section between Bujeon Station and Bukulsan Station runs seven times a day (14 round trips) on Mugunghwa Lake alone.

The city expects that if the metropolitan subway opens, it will operate 44 additional times a day (88 round trips) every 15 minutes of commuting time and 25 to 30 minutes of peacetime, greatly improving the convenience of citizens' transportation.

A city official said, "If the section of the metropolitan subway is extended to BukUlsan Station, it is expected that residents in the northern Ulsan area will be able to move easily, and the regional economy will be revitalized due to the development of the station area and inter-regional connection."
